THE GREAT NEBULA IN ORION and A BETROTHAL

By Lanford Wilson and Kenneth Fuchs
Directed by Julie James

The pairing of dialogue from Pulitzer Prize winning author Lanford Wilson with music by Grammy Award nominated composer Kenneth Fuchs (featured at the 2007 Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music) sets the stage for a rarely experienced melodic theatre event. Two touching and humorous stories of friendship, old and new, unfold. The Great Nebula depicts Louise and Carrie, two old college friends who have taken opposite paths in life but have a chance meeting that reveals dashed dreams and unrequited love. In A Betrothal, two horticulturists, the dogmatic Ms. J.H. Joslyn and the fragile Mr. Kermit Wasserman have a pugnacious yet enchanting encounter after showing their prize irises.
