Erik Gandolfi (Ed), a Santa Cruz local, studied theatre at PCPA and Santa Clara University. He's worked for Shakespeare Santa Cruz, PCPA, Sierra Repertory Theatre and Pacific Repertory Theatre. In 1992 he joined SAG working in a variety of industrial films and a national ad campaign for Alka-Seltzer. He also worked as a Theatre Arts Instructor through the William James Association at Mule Creek State Prison, directing a variety of plays within the inmate population. By 1996 his focus in this business took a radical turn. He produced, shot and edited a feature length documentary on Dennis Banks' Sacred Run, a landmark journey where 19 people from different countries and various Native American tribes ran from Huntington Beach, California to Atlanta, Georgia. Since then, he has worked on several documentaries, regional ad campaigns, corporate & industrial films and recently a promotional video for the Defense Language Institute in Monterey. Currently Erik is in development for a feature length documentary about a federal criminal case that took place in Old Monterey circa 1920.Confidant that Jewel Theatre offers our community a fresh face to an already blossoming theatre scene in Santa Cruz, he is looking forward to playing Lennie in John Steinbeck's, Of Mice and Men.
